Gamera Beanre- Gamera Beanre runs an excellent website featuring his phenominal builds, many of which have won awards. He showcases mecha models, as well as figure kits. He also has a number of yummy tutorials which are, at least at the moment, FAR better than what you can find on this humble website. His site is definatly worth checking out. |
Fichtenfoo- Micheal Fichtenmayers website showcasing his excellent kitmaking and webdesign capacities. This is home to some of the best turtorials out there, som excellently customized kits, and a lively hobby discussion message board. This site is highly reccomended. |
Modelwerks- Home to some REALLY nice grade ups. He has a way of making an old kit look like it was just released. His 1/144 Gouf flight type is not to be missed. |
Modeler X- Now this is an interesting idea. It's a model gallery for everybody. Just go and post your works there for everybody to see. It's a community effort! It also has a rating system for each image displayed. |
Mecha Maniac- Some really cool beans custom color schemes to be found here, definatly a reccomended stop. Each kit also seems to have it's own home-done stand, s there are some awesome vignettes. Hasn't been updated in a while, though. |
Mecha Model Compitition- A contest hosted by Gamera Beanre, open to mecha modelers everywhere. Plans look to be holding a contest every month. Great fun! |
Chrono Kit Works- Promising up and coming website. His works are incredible, and untill his main site is active, can be found here- http://chronokitworks.blogspot.com/ |
The Ghost of Zeon- Excellent works by Red Comet. Some very good clean gundams, and he's now branching out into some pretty damned cool new territories. Check out his Dinosaur diorama! |
Peck's World- Peck is a japanese modeler who creates AMAZING works to be auctioned on Yahoo Japan. His stuff is really top notch, and is worth checking out regardless of language barrier. |
Heavy Armor Studios- Very very clean and well done kits, but the real attraction here is the figures. (The kits really really good too, of course.) A number of very well done figure kits, as well as excellent turtorials for figure kit painting. A bit of a warning, some of these kits get pretty pervy. |
Cody's Coop- A great reserouce for mecha and figure works. HAs a gallery that allows users to post images, and a huge variety of works can be seen. |
Kogwerks- Some great Gundam kits for now, and the promise of Five Star Stories kits in the figure, so look forward to it! |
Operation Mecha Genesis- Keenix's excellent website, featuring a good number of really spiffy buildups, mostly Gundam. Several of his work have received awards, as well. |
Plamo Warrior DX- Some REALLY awesome buildups to be had here. Lots of nice photos, and a couple of toy reviews, as well. Check out his PG GP01 Diorama for some really great HUGE work. |
Hobby Link Japan- THE place to buy imported model kits like Gundam. You do pay for the overseas shipping, but you pay the much lower yen price for each kit. Best place to buy bulk. EXTREMILY reliable, and often the only place to go for some items. Highly reccomended. |
Hobby Search- This amazing site acts as both a HLJ clone and a fantastic reference site. They prelist items as soon as they are informed of them, so it's the place to look for prerelease info. They also photo the contents of each and every item, and 9 times out of ten they have the entire instruction guide scanned. So you know exactly what you're getting before it even arrives. How spiffy is that? |
Hobbyfan-Hobbyfan is a general hobby site dedicated to a variety of plastic kits, but they're big appeal is their resin recasts. Quality for these is apparently varied, but prices are good, and the selection is great. |
E2046- Specializes in recasts, recasts, recasts. Great place to go for cheap resin kits, with a wide selection. |
Ebay- An obvious choice, but not a bad place to look for Gundam kits, resin figures, action figures, DVDs, artbooks, and what have you. Just be sure to double check to ensure you are receiving what you want, rather than a shoddy knockoff. |
Hobby Wave- I've never used this site, but I've heard good things. A good online hobby shop with lots of gundams. |
Gundam Store and More- Name sorta says it all. A domestic store with a huge selection. USed to be little things mean a lot. Has a number of items along side gundam. |
Gundamshop- I used to visit this place like crazyt, and was happy to see it back. They let you post reviews on kits, and a few of my reviews are up there to see. Prices are a bit high, but shipping is low, and VERY fast. Decent selection, takes em a while to get newer stuff. |
Treasure Island Sports- I've ordered from them a few times, and a friend of mine swears by them. Decent selection, decent prices, good service, and a regular fixture on ebay. Not a bad way to go, and they have a lot of things in addition to gundam. |
Plajapan- havn't used em, hear good things. reasonable rpices, great selection, and for a limited time (which is sure to be over by the time I next update this page, warning), free 1/144 Gundam kits with purchase over $50. |
